Stronger United-Stronger UK@United Europe: Remain & Transform!

To all citizens or residents of the UK: please take a minute to sign this petition and ask your friends who are citizens or residents of the UK to do the same. It asks that the referendum vote on UK membership in the EU not be held earlier than February 20, 2017. This is one year after the date UK Prime Minister Cameron and his EU colleagues in the European Council signed the agreement containing Britain's new special status membership terms in the EU.  Thank you for taking the time to join Stronger United in this very important matter for us all. To sign please click on image to the right.

Cameron wants to hold the vote four months from now, on June 23, 2016. During this period many other elections will take place in the UK, including Scottish Parliament elections and UK-wide local council elections. No in-depth, democratic debate on the vital issue of UK membership in the EU will take place. It will end up being a marketing exercise between a "Leave" campaign and a "Stay In" campaign both funded by City of London interests.

The "Leave" campaign has a real chance of winning. This could lead to Scotland separating from the UK and with both the EU an NATO badly, perhaps even fatally, damaged. Given current world events, we simply cannot allow this to happen. We need one year to properly, democratically debate these issues. Please sign this petition and ask your friends to do so as well. If we reach 10,000 signatures the UK Parliament in Westminster will have to consider it; at 100,000 signature it will have to actually debate our petition in the House of Commons. The more signatures. the better our chance to affect in a real way the referendum process. Thank you all for your help and support in this very important matter.

History is accelerating – and in the wrong direction. Over the past 15 years, whether we look at the tragic events of 9/11 and 7/7, at the devastating wars unleashed all over the Middle East, at the global suffering caused by the still on-going 2008 Financial Crisis, at the unspeakable crimes of terrorist organisations in Syria, Irak, Nigeria, and Somalia, or at the rise of populist right- and left-wing movements in Europe – all these events have the same root cause: the utter unwillingness of our politicians to listen to our concerns and to take decisive actions to confront, together, the many challenges we face at the start of this 21st Century.

Desperate to entrench their power, privileges and positions against our will – against the democratic system of government they only pay lip service to, these Establishment politicians of all hues and colors now want to enlist your vote and your support in their common attempt to undermine the one area of peace, prosperity, and participation to have emerged out of the ruins of the Second World War: the European Union – and in the process, to also fatally weaken the unity and democracy of our own country, of the United Kingdom.

We simply cannot allow this to happen. We cannot allow them to lead us down that path. In the prescient words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:

We are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history there is such a thing as being too late. Procrastination is still the thief of time… We must move past indecision to action... If we do not act we shall surely be dragged down the long dark and shameful corridors of time reserved for those who possess power without compassion, might without morality, and strength without sight… Now let us begin. Now let us rededicate ourselves to the long and bitter -- but beautiful -- struggle for a new world... The choice is ours, and though we might prefer it otherwise we must choose in this crucial moment of human history.

By joining our Campaign for “A Stronger United Kingdom in a United Europe”, you can play your part in helping to bring to life MLK’s call to action and contribute to our “struggle for a new world”. Please fill in the simple information form at the top of this page; we will contact you within 24 hours and let you know what you can do to help our country, our continent, and our world, to stand up to the indecision and incompetence of our politicians and move towards joint action in pursuit of common solutions. We are very excited to hear from you soon!

In this section of our website you can find out anything you wish to know about our  organization. In addition to our Principles we have grouped this information for you in four main categories:

  1. Places: Here you will find information about the locations we have established a presence in, are about to do so, or intend to be active in  the future. “Stronger United” is organized as a network of hubs located in various cities throughout the UK, as well as other countries in three main regions: Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
  2. Partners: The strategy of the “Stronger United” Campaign in winning the BREXIT Referendum and then promoting the changes required for a more effective, fairer, and more democratic EU is not only to develop its own network of hubs in cities across the UK, Europe, and North America, but also to coordinate its actions with those of various other organisations broadly sharing our vision and aims. We indent to establish connections with think tanks, universities, activist groups and NGOs, as well as with private organisations that are willing to bring to the table their own assets and specific strengths as we seek to attain our shared goals of more peaceful, more prosperous, more participative communities, countries, and regions.
  3. Projects: As you learn more about our Campaign and its objectives from both this website and our book, you will see that although the BREXIT Referendum focuses on the UK alone, our Eight-Point Plan adopts a coherent and comprehensive institutional reform approach that includes not only the UK, but also the EU and North America. This results in a very specific 8-item “TO DO” List that serves us as guide to implementing our Plan on the ground, in actuality, in 10 successive Phases. Each phase builds upon the previous ones to widen and deepen our network organization and to accomplish our goals of playing a key part in winning the BREXIT Referendum, then taking the lead in the following discussions and debates about the reforms we need to implement in the UK, Europe, and the Trans-Atlantic Community we are part of.
  4. People: Our Campaign is only as effective as the people who make it up – every one of us. We aim to give every one of our campaigners the autonomy, resources, and activities she or he needs to take on in order to make the most meaningful contribution they can to our final goal: “A Stronger United Kingdom in a United Europe”. As a flat network structure based on hubs located in various cities, regions, universities, and think tanks, “Stronger United"’s success depends primarily on the initiative, creativity, and leadership of its individual Hub Leaders. They are all coordinated by the Campaign’s Managing Team, and can reply on the input and advice of our Governance Board.
